Patek Philippe 5270P Perpetual Calendar "Salmon Dial" Hands-On
Think of a perpetual calendar chronograph, and you're probably also thinking about Patek Philippe Watches. No other complication has become more synonymous with the brand than a perpetual calendar chronograph. The latest perpetual calendar chronograph, the Reference 5270, was launched by Patek Philippe in 2011. We've seen many different changes since launch. However, the latest is probably just the most ideal. Why? Because it comes with a salmon dial. This is the new Patek Philippe Reference 5270P Perpetual Calendar.
The new Reference 5270P is largely similar to the previous version. A notable feature is that it comes in a platinum case. Platinum is an ideal metal for a complex Patek Philippe. Stainless steel and titanium alloys still dominate, but they are very rare and difficult to obtain. Regardless, the case remains unchanged, measuring 41mm wide and about 12.4mm thick. It's pretty big on the wrist, and the sizeable crown, square buttons, and fancy flared lugs just accentuate its size and make it look bigger. Between the lugs at 6 o'clock is a small diamond, a hidden feature of all platinum Patek Philippe high quality replica watches.
The overall configuration of the dial remains unchanged. Two apertures for date and month at 12 o'clock, running seconds at 9 o'clock, 30-minute chronograph at 3 o'clock, date and moon phase at 6 o'clock. At 7:30 you have a At the small aperture of the day and night indicator, at 4:30, you have the leap year indicator. One small complaint I have is that the day and date apertures and leap year indicator don't match the color of the dial.
Speaking of the dial, the big news here is the salmon color of the dial, and oh my gosh, what does it do. Salmon dials have long been associated with rarity and special Patek Philippe, so it is intriguing that Patek Philippe decided to release the 5270 with a salmon dial. Enthusiasts will know that despite having an exceptionally manufactured movement, the 5270 didn't perform well and has so far remained in the shadow of its predecessor, the 5970, which had a Lemania-based movement. It's hard to say exactly why, but it's clear that Patek Philippe wants to increase interest in the 5270 with this new model, and thus increase sales.wholesale replica watches
Besides the color of the dial, another unique feature is that this new 5270P replaces the stick hour markers with Arabic numerals in black gold. The various hands are also made of black gold. Patek Philippe also subtly matched the watch with a brown alligator leather strap with square scales that complements the watch perfectly.
These two highlights have a profound impact on the dial. On the one hand, the salmon color gives a decidedly warm and retro feel, but the black and gold Arabic numerals look very modern in my opinion, which makes the 5270P even more modern. The combination of the two gives the watch a unique aesthetic that, in my opinion, is the most attractive and desirable Reference 5270P to date.Richard Mille RM 011 Felipe Massa
Apparently, the 5270P comes with a sapphire display caseback, and the lucky owner will be able to enjoy the CH 29-535 PS Q in all its glory. This is a hand-wound movement that offers a power reserve of 55 to 65 hours when wound. Honestly, the construction of the movement is not the prettiest, but the movement is very well done. There are hand-beveled bridges, intricate textures on the wheels, polished screw heads and more. The movement also strictly adheres to standards exceeding COSC.
It will be interesting to see how Patek Philippe enthusiasts react to this new 5270P, especially when you consider that all previous leather strap 5270 versions have been discontinued to make way for this new model. The 5970 will always be a special watch, but I think this new model with a salmon-colored dial has a good chance of winning over some aficionados. While this new 5270P isn't perfect, I still really like it and hope to see it succeed commercially.repllica Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watches
